I feel very uncomfortable with this role of ambassador, with the commercialisation of marginalised identities, and the crappy disability organisations that benefit from this particular strain of it (the service providers). Basically, all I want in my life is for all disabled people to have wholistic access to society, and to feel safe in their homes and communities, proud of who they are and entitled to take up space wherever they want. And god knows why the photo of me is awful - I've asked for it to be changed because I have a tiny thread of vanity, who knew?
